Value 2006 SI after accident
Hey.
I have a 2006 Civic SI w/ Navi.
The interior and exterior are mint. The car has 21k miles. In June of 2006 I got rear ended on the parkway and it's on my carfax. I went to trade it in at the stealership and they offered me $14k trade in.
How much do you think I can get for it private sale? The car drives, feels, looks brand new and the only reason I want to get rid of it is because I'm about to buy a house and it's costing me $400 a month. I'm gonna get a Fit instead.
Thanks.

The title is clean, its not salvage or anything.
There were $12k worth of repairs done when I was rear ended. Lady hit me pretty hard.
I know what kbb says but thats way different then what the stealership offered me so I'm just tryin to figure out if its worth it to go to another dealership or just sell it privately.

12k worth of repairs?? That's a very hard hit & I'm surprised they didn't total it (depending at what % your Insurance company totals vehicles at). Not sure what your car is worth but a potential buyer would probably skip on your ride if they knew how bad the accident was. Definetly would have made the insurance company pay out some kind of diminished value if that was my car.

Yeah I'd like to see more feedback on this.
I have about 20k miles on my Fiji 06 SI as well. I was in a bad accident, spun out and hit a telephone pole last December. After everything was fixed, the total bill was roughly $14,400. The accident occurred at 9,600 miles, and I've double the mileage with absolutely no problems since.
I paid about $23k OTD for my car when it was brand new back in August of 06'. Anyone know how much my car would be worth?

really.. a cadillac dealer down the street had a used SI with 24k and HFP lip kit that they had marked on the lot @ 17k.. it only lasted a week or two.. I can't imagine them paying more than 14k on trade.
only thing good about trading with Honda is they can extend the warranty and jack the price up on the lot. I've seen used cars go for more than the exact model new because they had a 100k mile warranty and not the standard 36k.. remind Honda of that (let them know you know what they can sell the car for) and see if you can get them to give you a little more on trade

+1 I'm surprised they even offered that with so much damage.

Did you receive diminished value for the vehicle? Since it appears on car fax and you will receive lower offers on the vehicle I'd say you are entitled.

Yeah seriously, I thought they would total mine. I had State Farm.
Originally the work was estimated at 10.7k in damages, but after the POS body shop had to order parts that they "forgot" about, the bill came to 14.4k.

yes but they also extend the bumper to bumper an additional year past the expiration of the original warranty @ 3 years/36k
here's Honda's explaination:
