Default help with cable b tranny

hello everybody. i recently put in a new clutch in my b series. and i started to do a wire tuck on my rex afterwards. but before i got to it, i had to move my car, which includes driving it( putting it in gear). now i noticed that as i was driving it, my rex felt stiffer than usual. i then proceeded in the wire tuck project and it took about a week between work to finish it. now the car hasn't been driven in a week but, after i've finished the wire tuck things became very odd. my car started, tranny was filled but, i couldn't put it in gear. AND i'm able to put it in gear with the car off. AND if i start the car in gear with the clutch pedal 'all the way down,' the car pulls forward regardless. i'll appreciate any help. i'm thinking it has something to do with me putting in the new clutch but thats why i'm asking.

you probably need to adjust the cable, its probably not disengaging all the way

no, the cable is adjusted right. i might just have to take apart the tranny and check the bearing. thanks alot for any help. still would need some feedback though.

Yeah everytime I put in a clutch, my tranny bearings go out. Someday I will change them before I do a clutch. Yeah, must be the tranny bearings they allways go out with a fresh clutch. Plus the wire tuck makes the wires longer so you have to modify your shift linkage also the same amount you added to your wires.
(or you could adjust the cable)

okay! great man. i feel alot better about replacing them. oh, i'm a little confused on what you were saying about the wire tuck and shift linkage?anyways, i've got a new concept or idea on how to shave the bay easier so i might do a write up in the future, put out a new idea. thanks for all the help though.

I think he was being sarcastic. Most of the time if you do a job and something is not working right after that, of course its probably something you did, like adjusting the clutch cable wrong.

If the car was running fine before the clutch job, your bearings are fine.

Thank you RCautoworks. I was joking! adjust your clutch cable do not take apart your tranny.

no, it wasn't the clutch cable. i took out my tranny and it was (hopefully) the clutch pilot bearing(because it was all out of *****). yeah, well i lost my spare bearing earlier today(mysteriously). i gotta find out what else it could be though, just to be on the safe side. but it was definitely not the clutch cable.

You should have changed your pilot bearing when you changed your clutch. Oh well at least you should be getting quicker with pulling your tranny.

The symptoms you described are not that of a pilot bearing. The car was stuck in gear pretty much and when you stepped on the peddle nothing was happening. Common signs that the clutch is not disengaging.

my apologies. i didn't list all the symptoms quite as well as i should've butwhat it was is that the car would start with the clutch pedal down only (as usual). BUT i wasn't able to even put it in gear. now i tried forcing it in gear with my clutch all the way down (cable tranny ADJUSTED) and the car leaps forward! oh no! but nothing was in front of me..anyways, also if i had started the car in gear with the clutch pedal down AND brakes down, the car would start jump forward and die! those might not have been the symptom but the clutch pilot bearing was all messed up missing one side of the races. but it was my fault seeing that i didn't put in the new bearing in the first place. thanks alot though.
