Default Stock Internals....?

how much horsepower can the stock internals on a new 07 civic sedan si hold? I'm thinking about putting headers, catback, CAI, and some nos. Then from there I want to do stuff to the engine NA (cams, K-pro, etc.) no boost. I'm just afraid its going to be too much when I switch up the cams or something. NEED HELP WITH THIS.

way more than you are going to get going NA right now.... there are people on ocho running 75 and 100 shots of NOS. Most people said dont do more than 50... but i believe it could take 75 all day. so far no explosions but the people running 100shot i think are just straight nutty with no tuning. besides k-pro isnt available and anything more than stage 1 cams would be a waste... someone is doing a tsx cam swap into an si this weekend.. im interested to see what he gets for gains.

EDIT also when you start adding nos.. you are no longer considered to be NA.

Why do you say its a waste of time to add nitrous? Oh and thanks for the info on the k-pro issue, I didnt know that about the cams (I:_Drive). I just want to do the whole NOS thing until I gather enough money for boost. I can't do boost now (too much money). Plus I would have to get the 3 inch exhaust, ecu, tuning, tuning and then some more tuning. I just want something for now, as long as I can do NOS safely, I'll do it. Thats why I was asking about the stock internals. Little by little I'll start doing other mods in the car you know...

Last I saw was 510whp, and thats not completely stock, they changed out some stuff, i know they made it safely rev to 9k so theres no way its stock internals. Also, 190mph sounds bloated... I heard the story of them bleeping it out at 188 before the speedo went nutty.

I cant find it now, but there is a gear ratio / max speed calculator someone around here used on our tranny gears, and the max POSSIBLE speed of 6th is like 174. So unless they also modified their tranny, it didnt happen.

If it went to 188 on stock tranny and final driveand then the speedo freaked out but the car was still going up in speed. I know they beefed up the valve springs but thats not internals like the OP was talking, he is talking rods and pistons. Their car is 510 @ 20 PSI and I heard they have been turning it up in the 30-35 range recently trying to see how much it will take.

it's a waste because nitrous is not consistant. tempurature affects whether you get a good or bad spray. and all the money you're gonna dump into filling up the bottle could put yoiu halfway towards a good turbo setup.

there are a few other things but im too lazy to talk about it. what i said above is what made me decide to get out the nitrous game. I also never blown so many headgaskets ever until i ran nitrous.

nitrous daily for hardcore drag guys

Nitrous is great for the drag racers.. and actually temperature, humidity, elevation etc. effect the nitrous guys far less than the guys running boost. With boost the intake charge is dependent on the ambient air still, even though it is being forced into the motor. With Nitrous you are actually creating your own "atmosphere" in that the amount of oxygen that reaches the combustion change will be the same regardless of local conditions. Since the amount of O2 is static (splitting from the NO2 molecules) then the fuel can be too. This gives you alot of consistency.

I still don't see too much point in screwing with these motors in regards to cams and internal upgrades until we see some effective engine management
