I want to swap a Dohc ZC in to my 95 eg VX, wut parts do i need?
i have a dohc Zc motor. i think its a jdm motor. i need to know everything about swaping it in. could really use the help and advices. thanks.
He said DOHC ZC, D16Z6 is SOHC so I'm pretty sure it's safe to assume he meant what he said.
As far as I know the DOHC ZC did come in an OBD1 variant. Are you sure you want to go through with this swap? It's not legal for your car. I have one myself and had to find out the hard way that I can't get a BAR label. If smog is not an issue, then shoot go for it. Do you know what year/OBD your motor is?

my motor right now is an OBD1. and yea im sure i want to do it becuz the first owner of my car freaken ran into a ditch. and the vx motor is filled with mud and water. so i have a zc motor just sitting there so i might as will do it.
I haven't dealt with an OBD1 version, but under assumption, the motor should still bolt up the same in the engine bay (still bolts up as a D-Series) with most of the same plugs. For my car (91 Civic) it's the same thing as a basic Si motor with the only wiring difference being a cam angle sensor on the exhaust cam(SOHC Si distributor has the sensor built into it already, DOHC ZC has it as a seperate sensor). That's as far as my knowledge goes. Anyone else have info to share for running it in OBD1 form?
