engine overheating
i bought dat accord from jersey in a aunction on the web : it was a good deal. the only minus was dat the ac didnt work. i have the car 4 now 4 month and i start smelling cooling fluid in ventilation system (i didnt worry much cuz there were no overheating). couple more days after it start overheating speacially when stay stopped like at the red light. quick check and i realize there were no more cooling liquid in the reserve, checking more deaply i saw dat the radiator was rusty and missing those little i dont know how 2 call it. annyway it was dead. I change the rad myself. the plug of the automatic tranny had pop out, weird no! but the fluid looked ok, when i disconect the hose from tranny the fluid was normal : reddish. the big hose had those blowby white milky creamy disgusting thing dripping out. ive read some forums on the net & realize its should be oil : ok there. I check the head oil cap no blowby non inside & same thing for the oil level dip stick. i rinse the rad many time but those white clogs seam 2 always come back. the upper hose get hot and hard and the lower one soft and cooler. i have no problems with the fans and i have no whit smoke from the exhaust.what your opinion :head gasket, thermostat
i dont know what 2 do
Just as long as your lower hose gets hot it should be fine. If it is WAY cooler than the upper then your thermostat is bad. You said you smelled coolant in the ventilation system? Feel for wetness on the front passenger side carpet. If your heater core is leaking your car would overheat, you would smell coolant in the car, and there would likely (but not always) be coolant on the front passenger side floor.
