Default Tranny Pics. Need help identifying gear / synchro

I know the pics are not the best, so I appologize.
Can someone please point out what is wrong here?
My third gear was grinding really really bad, so I dropped the tranny.
I know the synchro's are worn because the magnet in the tranny had lots of brass on it. The problem is, I have no idea which one of these gears is 3rd gear, and which synchro corresponds with it.
Any insight would be helpful.

Check the shop manual...

I believe the 3rd/4th gear syncro set is on the main shaft. It may be difficult to tell if the sycro is worn with out disassembling the main shaft. The condition of the friction surfaces may be all you have to go on…

Brass does not stick to magnets! And it is normal to have some metal fillings on the magnet.

Good point. I forgot about that.
There was a lot less on the magnet than what I expected though. It was fairly clean. When I wiped it off with the shop rag, I got some brass / gold "colored" metal on it. I will read the Helms again tomorrow.

heres a pic, if you were having problems with getting into third, you need to check the 3rd gear dog teeth (little teeth on 3rd gear itself under the shift sleeve in your picture), the 3rd gear brass synchro (also under the shift sleeve in your picture), and the teeth on the shift sleeve itself.

ALSO!!!

I need a picture if possible since you have the trans open right now:
