Clutch Grinding Noise HELP!!!!!!!!
Ever since I bought my car it makes a really Annoying grinding Noise...but it goes away when I press down on the clutch...I bought a new clutch Yesterday because i thought it would be my throwout bearing or pilot bearing but it was neither...Any ideas????
hmm.. that is interesting. Is it a grinding noise, or is it more of a clicking noise when the clutch pedal is pressed down to the floor?
does it only make the grinding noise in certain gears, does it make the noise when the car is in neutral? Is the grinding noise like when you grind a gear on a mis shift?

When im in Neutral No Noise...When im in first gear with clutch engaged you will hear the noise when i let off the gas...or when i accelerate...if i keep the gas at a level speed you will hardly hear it...When i down Shift you will hear it....Basically...As long as the clutch pedal is pushed down u wont hear it....and the lower the gears the louder it is...
ex..gear 1 (LOUD)...Gear 2 (loud) gear 3(barely hear it) 4(bearly hear it) 5(cant really hear it but i know its still there

to be honest, i have no idea. I have never experienced this or ever heard of something like this. On my old car the throw-out bearing did not have enough lubrication, so when i would push the clutch pedal down it would make a clicking sound. After i fixed that problem, no more sounds came from the tranny.
did you take the tranny off yourself, how did the throw-out bearing look, did you lube it up really well?

I haven't experienced that kind of problem before.. have you checked your honda clutch kit? well, some of the causes of a grinding noise are as follows: There is an internal problem in the transmission if parts within the transmission are worn or damaged; The clutch is worn or needs adjustment; The shift linkage needs to be adjusted; better re-check everything and see what might be the real cause.. good luck
that sounds like a bad bearing in the transmission. Not expensive to fix if you can take the transmission apart yourself. You just have to figure out which bearing is bad and have a shop press a new one on for you.

i didn't even think of that, but now that you say that i bet that is what the problem is. you can rent a tool that will pull bearings and press them back in at some auto shops...if you plan on doing it yourself.

good luck, the inside of a tranny is very complex, i would def recommend having a good manual to refer to. i think you could do the job yourself, as long as you take your time. getting the tranny out of the car is pretty simple, rebuilding it will be the hard part.
