Oil problem

Default Oil problem

I replaced the head on my sohc ZC because the car was over heating but now that **** is burning a quart of oil a day so I have to put oil everyday It would burn oil before but not that much. I checked if there was oil in the spark plugs but nothing, there's no leaks in the head or any were else PLEASE HELP ME OUT...

is there blue smoke coming out of the tailpipe or any smoke at all?

yea it smokes a lot u can smell the oil burning, could it be the motor already that is going out on me..

hone the block (if possible without having to overbore) and install new piston rings

Don't do that before doing a comp. test. Do a comp test, then put a teaspoon of oil in the cylinder, then do it again. If the numbers go up, it's your rings. If not, your rings are fine.

Yeah, you're most likely right, I was just suggesting spending 5 minutes to make sure it really was the rings before tearing the entire engine apart.

You know, I just thought, if he replaced the head, and NOW it is burning/leaking oil, maybe he put the headgasket on backwards?
