Default Clifford alarm problem

I have no idea what model it is but it's a real basic one. It just arms and disarms, no unlocking doors or anything else.

Basically what is going on is when I arm the car from the outside, I hear the two chirps indicating it's turned on but about five seconds later there are four individual chirps, beep-beep-beep-beep. This is telling me something as when I open the door with the alarm armed the alarm doesn't go off.

I was messing around with it and then when I go into the car, turn the key in the on position, arm the alarm and try to get out, the alarm will go off.

What could be going on and any idea how to fix this?

I do not have warranty on the alarm or the install as I bought the car with the alarm already installed.

The alarm has worked well for a while but I think this happened after my door was left opened during arming the car or something like that. Any ideas shoot them my way please.

If I'm understanding your explanation correctly, the 4 chirps means that you've left a door/hood/trunk open (the last two only if you have a hood a trunk pin).

Do your door pins work? Ie dome light comes on when you open the doors?

i would spend some time locating the brain and finding out which alarm you have, i mean it will only protect you more knowing what you have and maybe adding some stuff to the alarm (proxi sensor ect...) this will also help you get the owners manual and installation information aswell?

you can find out exactly what it is once you find what model you have. but on my g5 2 chirps (arm) then 5 secs later with 4 chirps shows system armed with door active and bypassed zone 4 (depending on what you have on zone 4)(like i said installation manual will show how you have zone 4 hooked up

also 2 chirps (arm) then 10 secs with 4 chirps shows system armed with sensor active and by passed zones 1,2,3,and 8

i would find out what alarm you have which will help you get the manuals so you can check the wiring to see whats going on...its not hard finding the brain should only take you minutes, just follow the wires from the ignition switch
