Well I finally decided to take the car in after several attempts to fix the overheating myself.

I replaced the fan switch, coolant temp switch, thermostat, fuses and radiator fan.

I got a call 5 hours later and they told me that the car would show that it was overheating but when the temperature was taken with a gun that it showed normal reading.
It turned out to be just a FAULTY GAUGE CLUSTER. THis all makes sense because a few days before teh overheating was happening, my tach and speedometer were messing up.
Its the one thing that I did'nt think to check. The guy was really cool and did'nt even charge me.
When I pulled out onto the road the needle climbed all the way past the H on the temp gauge but nothing showed in the car. WEIRD!!!

go to your local junkyard.. you should be able to order a cluster from there for like 50 bucks
