I just got this car and one of my peeves already is the stock height and movement (play) in the automatic shifter. I'm used to driving manuals and as a natural condition i rest my hand on the shifter. The problem with this is everytime i hit a bump i throw the car back into D3 or up into N. My two questions are is it possible to somehow adjust the play in the shifter and is it possible to simply hack about 4 inches off of the shaft so that it just looks better? i've done this with other autos int he past i just wondered if anyone has experience doing this.
