NEED HELP: PCV on D16
ok, the car i recently got has high idle problem and i realized it is missing the pcv valve. so i brought a pcv valve (the L shape looking thing) and i knew the top portion connect to the intake manifold. But what about the buttom one? i went to honda parts department and they told me it connect to a vacuum line but they are not sure exactly where is the vacuum line go. and i cannot figure out it either!!
please help, thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
please help, thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
If you look down at the intake manifold between the first cylinder and second
You shouuld see a hole about 1/2" wide. That is where the PCV valve goes.

thanks for reply, but as far as i know, it just a hole for the gorment. there suppose be a vacuum line under it and runs to somewhere. so now i am asking where is it runs to?
So let's start at the intake manifold. It has a nipple for the hose, then on the other side of the hose is the PCV valve. Then the PCV valve fit's into the grommet.
Goes and looks at the rex...
Wow, I have not looked at that before. So there is another hose from the bottom of the PCV valve grommet to a black box on the side of the block under the intake manifold's#3 and #4 runners. It is a tin black box.
I learned something new...Thank's

no problem, i thought the same way as you did until the honda part sales asked if i need to buy the tube too.
EDIT: I think i see it now, the gourmet and the tube is completely gone.
Thanks alot!!!

thanks, that was what the parts sales man print out for me and i was not able to figure out where is the lower tube connect to. so now with all of the clues, it looks like the lower side of PCV tube goes into #1 which is the little black box as thesmogman mentioned?

I just went out there to take a picture but b/c of the sun 'n such the flash wouldn't go off and I couldn't take a picture.
It's real simple, lean over the front of your engine and look right betwen the #1 and #2 runners and slightly to the right of that (almost under the #2 runner). That's the nipple where that line connects to. Then it goes under the intake mani and pops up "through" the manifold to the right of the #4 runner by that grommet where it goes to the intake manifold.
Hope that helps a bit
.
PS: It's a pain in the *** to get in there so I don't know how ur gonna hook it up.
EDIT:
My recommended access point is remove the air intake and reach from that end above the thermostat and try to get it on the nipple, then use a pair of LONG pair of needle nose pliers in between the #1 and #2 runners to get the clamp over the nipple...or get a screw kind of clamp and use a screwdriver right in between the #1 and #2 runners.
