B18 Block + B16 Head & Pistons =

You get the 1.8 Liter Displacement so you get the torque and the better flow of the B16 head.

displacement = power.

You should really do some research in the other forums before asking us here. Look in the hybrid, all motor, FI, and drag racing forum and see what people are doing.

Id say b18c1, its better for boost and produces more much needed tourque, there's really no advantage to the b16 over the b18 aside from it being a bit lighter , in my opion

Hey, when I was 16 I was rocking a cammed out b16 with some valvesprings and retainers. But it is true, most kids just throw I/H/E on their swap and call it a day

Isn't the GSR block and SiR head the 'poor mans ITR' combo?

or are poor like me driving a single cam. i love how this topic was which is better gsr or b16 and the first couple of answers were crvtec and poor mans type r which have nothing to do with the thread. gsr makes more power in a stock oem reliable form, so go with that

^^ With that statement right there I would check your upper lip for the smell. How much money do you have to spend on mods? What kind of whp goals are you looking at? Are you going N/A or Boost, because a N/A car is not going to be a comfortable ride as a daily.

No replacement for displacement.....unless you have enough to go turbo, then screw displacement, just build the internals

^^ yeah, or he could easily sit on it for a while and watch that 1k turn into 3-4k since he is 16 and I would hope he has a job and no rent/debt. Might as well get a good jump on the game now
