im buying a stock 2001 prelude with just about 80k on it and i was just wondering if anyone knew anything special to beware of. im not as familiar with the prelude and the h22a. any warnings as well as suggestions for good performance mods would be much appreciated. thanks

 

just dont get an auto, they are ticking time bombs

as far as mods go, read the FAQs

 

Timing belt. Ask if its been done. (should be done at around 60k miles). If not, its *about* at $700 job at the Honda dealer.


I personally wouldnt get a Auto ( i have one) but i wish every day it would be 5spd

 

Find out if they have ever done the timing belt and if they ever did the ignition swith recall, im dont remember if it aplied to 01s thou.

no its auto

 

make sure auto tensioner and t belt have been replaced.. if auto, preludes are said to have glass trannys so change ATF often..

 

dont even buy an auto i bought mine it was auto, didnt even beat it and 11 days after i bought it the trans blew... its a ticking time bomb and i can agree with that from first hand experience !

 

projectbb6.. its an automatic trans which would also tell you that its the base version and NOT the type s. the prelude is a 5spd manual and the h22 blows the k20 out of the water.

so thats whats wrong with the auto rsx.....
