dash lights dont work? help puh leeezzz

dash lights dont work? help puh leeezzz
i have a 93 cx hatch
i cannot get the dash lights to work so i cant see whats g oing on with my car at night
all the other stuff lights up like srs and blinkers and all that
i checked the bulbs, checked the fuse both were ok
when i tried plugging in the dimmer switch thing the only thing that dimmed or got brighter was the CRUISE CONTROL LIGHT
i have no idea why they arent working
someone help

so when unplugged the dimmer switch it lit up or it still didn't work? fuse or bad dimmer switch does it affect ur headlights?
