Painting Rims
What is the best way to paint the factory rims on a 94 EX. Say if i wanted to paint them gunmetal or something. What is the best way to make the paint stay and not chip? And how should i prep the rims for paint? And is there anyway to fix the nicks and scratches on the rims?
Check the Wheels and Tires section. They have a tread stickied about painting rims.

Try some metal filler such as jb weld to add metal to the rim if theres some deep scratches and sand it down smooth with the lines of the rim. It's gonna take a lil elbow grease, though.
alright what ya do is 1st take em off...imo NEVER paint wheels when there on the car. 2nd wash thourgholy!?!?!(cant spell) 3rd get some parts cleaner or brake cleaner and using a towel or rag clean rigourously....4th get some acetone...this eliminates any leftover grease you didnt get wwith the break cleaner..then cover your tires and paint even thin coats untill desiered coat is achieved.... Schucks has a good wheel paint thats gunmetal paint thats 6 bucks a can..1 should be all you nedd. hope this helps
