My buddy tunes with a VAFC on his Skunk2 spec GSR. The only problem is he's now looking for a new engine.

Ive blown motors with a vafc and a hondata.
Vafc- stock b16 not o2 sensor, 550 injectors @ 13lbs
hondata- o2, wideband (which read 10.5:1 when it blew) eagle rods, srp piston 9:1, posted block, type r oil pump, etc..

No disrespect man, but that's certainly nothing to be proud of...
the quality of the tune is everything. I can not stress that enough.

10.5:1 is a point and a half too much IMO, you were basically pumping it out the tail pipe. And despite the cylinder cooling from the extra fuel the engine popped, obviously the ignition was not correct.

Most people do realize that A/F tends to not be the reason why most boosted engines die. Fuel is easy to make sure it's right, ignition is key and not independantly adjustable with the VAFC.
