Anyone have one of these? Are they a decent theft provention device or just hype? Im thinking of getting one for my R.

It works great, can't do anything against a tow truck though

They're good.
I have two. One for my R and other for my Corolla.
The only thing is that it works best if you install it on the clutch pedal and have to do a little mod to it in order to work right.
In automatic cars it works great tho.

Slows thieves for about 10 seconds. Car was stolen with it. Car was recovered and I bought another because it is good theft prevention. Nothing can stop your car from getting stolen, just layer your security.

 

Did they break it somehow or towed your car? I still havent heard to this date someone breaking the autolock unless it was towed...
