for people using chop saws to make collectors please help
OK i can make collectors all day long out of pvc but when i make it out of 304 the plade flexes when its at the end of the cut really pissing me off
Go really slow and don't push on the handle, let it cut it self. It will take longer, but the cut will be a lot more straight.
Wow....collectors with a chop saw....that has to be rough. I do mine on a bandsaw and still b*tch. It took me months to finally produce all but perfect pieces. Did you make a jig for the chopsaw or do you do the sharpie/vice grip method?
i have a jig that works really well but when i get to the end of my cut it Fs-up every damn time how much angle do you guys use maby im using to much angle for the blade not to flex i doubt that's my problem though

you better have one hell of jig to use a carbide and also the carbide blades are not replacements for the normal chop saw. The carbide blades are for saws that are designed for them that spin at half the speed of a normal abrasive saw.
The carbide saws work great but there is no forgiveness for something that is not held rigid. It will rip it out of the saw unlike the abrasive saw. The Makita lc1230 carbide chop saw comes with a much better vise setup then its abrasive counterpart. I have both
