Ok so i have a stock honda civic i think its a lx not sure, but when i put a cd into the drive of the honda cd player it gives me a error. Look at pic for more details, i looked in the manual and it does not have that error listed.http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/5905/dscf1414he0.jpg

Ok will it be an easy install for someone with no experience with civics? how to i get the player out? is that cd player broke?

There should be a piece in your owner's manual titled something like CD Changer Error Indications.

It will explain the errors.

Here are some errors, but I believe these only apply to the '96-'98s.

Indication: C D 0 0 0
Cause: No CD in the CD magazine
Solution: Insert CD.

Indication: C D - - -
Cause: No CD magazine in the CD changer
Solution: Insert CD magazine.

Indication: C D - - H
Cause: High temperature
Solution: Will disappear when the temperature returns to normal.

Indication: C D E E E
Cause: Misconnection or disconnetion of CD changer
Solution: See your Honda dealer.

Indication: C D - 1
Cause: Disc-changer malfunction
Solution: Consult your Honda dealer.

Indication: C D E - 2
Cause: Disc is in changer mechanism
Solution: Press the magazine eject button, and insert an empty magazine.

Indication: C D E - 3
Indication: C D E - 4
Indication: C D E - 5
Cause: Disc-changer malfunction
Solution: If the code disappears within a few seconds, unit is OK. If it does not, consult your Honda dealer.

Indication: C D E - 6
Cause: Disc-changer malfunction
Solution: Press the magazine eject button and pull out the magazine, check for error indication. Insert the magazine again. If the magazine cannot be pulled out, consult your Honda dealer.

Indication: C D E - 7
Cause: CD magazine ejection impossible
Solution: Press the magazine eject button. If the magazine does not eject, consult your Honda dealer.
