CEL is on with no codes, i have a d15b vtec on a pm6 ecu, i changed the ecu to a jdm pr3 still the same problem, CEL is on with no codes and no spark, what is the problem here? it starts from time to time though, but i got tired from this plz help

 

bump, i just bought a new battery and installed it, the car ran for a sec, then i tried to start it again it gave me the same problem, CEl is on without codes, and no spark?! main relay?! maybe?! oh and after 2 hours i came to tried it again but there's no power in the car like it doesnt have a battery

 

Are you running obdo or 1?

Does the car crank anymore?

Could be the wrong ecu for the car

Could be starter

No spark could mean main relay. Crack it open and resolder the points.

Troubleshooting is so fun.

OBD0 i mentioned the PM6 ecu

I could be wrong, but isn't the pr3 obd1?

Thats why I asked what obd you were running.

If you don't try and fix ur main relay, find a replacement. Usually you'll know its bad when you turn your key over and the yellow engine light doesn't come on, or it doesn't click. You should be able to hear the fuel prime, and the clicking sound.

My CRX has been starting, adn then not starting and I think its the main relay.

It really comes down to fuel, spark, timing, and the starter. Gotta check everything

 

the engine light is on without codes, then its not the main relay i guess, and there's obd0 and obd1 pr3 ecus

Try changing out the Distributor. It could be bad.

 

i dont have code 4 for the dizzy, and cel is on with no codes what does that mean?!

^ I would try this too. search "main relay" in the EF forum, there are plenty of pics & how to's
