PIC Suspension: Test of time?
Has anyone here been running PIC coilovers for a good period of time? I was discussing suspension with a friend and one question he has was how is their longevity. I searched and no one had done a review of the coilovers after running them for awhile, just out of the box/first few hundred miles.
I'm looking for something to replace my Tein springs on stock shocks, and I want something good. I've basically gotten it down to Ground Controls/Koni Yellows or the PIC Selects. One key issue is with the GC's I can get better spring rates for daily driving whereas with the PIC I wouldn't have as nice of a setup for daily driving. I think I can handle the stiff spring rates as I don't do much driving since I'm really close to work and school.
What I'm really concerned with is getting something that will do great when I get them, and after some time and mileage, the flaws will begin to show. I'd like to put that fear to rest because I've been hearing a lot of good about the PIC suspension.

I don't know if you can say I have had mine for a long time, but I have put about 2,000 miles on them. They have seemed to have settled in, and they are just as stiff as they where when I first got them. For the best bang for the buck go with the PIC you will not be disappointed. I'll get back to you on Sunday after the two days of autox which will be the real test of them.
I've got a total of 6 track days on mine so far, and plan on many more. I run the Select R3's myself and so far they have stood up to the test of time. I know some of the HC guys have more time/miles on them than I do, Franza I believe is one of them.
As for street duty, vs. deciated track... have you looked into their Apex lineup?

Gotcha.
FWIW, I'll be putting my R3's on my DD and "upgrading" the track cars sussy.

You know you're getting a quality setup with the Koni/GC combo. It's time-tested and everyone knows how good it is. The shocks are also fully rebuildable by a company that's not going anywhere soon, and there is a wealth of knowledge on shock valving.
Maybe PIC will pan out. So far, we've heard good things about them for the money.
But for a daily driver, you know the Konis will last (look at their warranty) and you can adjust your springrates accordingly.

i have had mine for 5000 track miles and about 4000 daily driver miles going on 18 months. there are no signs of leakage and still feel as good as the day i put them on.

Good to hear that people are putting good mileage on them with no problems. Mine will be daily driven and driven at the track, so I definitely want to be sure that what I buy won't go sour after a years worth of driving.
Jack from P1 still has one of the very first sets of Apexs on his car I believe, that he dd's and supposedly took on a cross-country trip to CA with 3 passengers. SO those have been in use since 2005, before that year's wtdr expo.
