Default Rebuilt title on S2k? Any opinions.

I've been looking to buy an S2k for a while now and I've ran across an 04 for a good price. The bad thing about it is that it has a rebuilt title. Its been in an accident but has been repaired. The owner supposively buys high-end cars wrecked and fixes them back to factory spec. Does anyone have any expierience in buying a car that has been in an accident? Would it be worth getting and what types of things should I look for?

I'd say no, unless you can get it for dirt cheap. If the car has a salvage title that means it sustained significant damage where the frame may have been bent or the cost of repair exceeded the value of the car. I'm going to say there was frame damage since this is an 04. The resale value of the car will also be dramatically affected if you try to sell it later. Check to make sure the car is straight and where the repair was done. Ask the guy if he has any pictures of the damage and the restoration process.

Appreciate it. The car has less than 60,000 miles and is less than $17,000. I didn't really plan on resaleing the car unless for some reason I just had to, but I haven't looked at it in person yet ; just full body pictures taken on the internet of it already fixed.

I'd also consider an AP1, you can find 02's with less than 60k on the odometer for $16-17,000. You get the 9k redline and all the updates from the 00-01 models and won't have to about the car's integrity also.

Dont rule out the salvage title s2k. Go look at it. Ask many questions. Get it checked out by someone you trust. You have the upper hand and may get a good price. Just remember... it will be a pain in the *** to sell if you ever need to.
