Depends how it was salavaged. None the less, it will affect the price greatly, sometimes even as much as half.

from all that i've heard, say you have a $10k car..... with a salvage it'll end up being on average $6k or so...

for what was said above......many price guides don't even place a price value on a salvaged car.
also stolen recovery v. collision/acccident will make a difference.

the thing with salvage is that [B]Normal[B] people wouldn't buy em...but people like us would...if your thinking about buying one then consider how long you gon keep the car, and why it is a salvage?

it doesnt say on the title about how much was salvaged but i the owner sed it was because the car got stripped, interior, wheels etc.

Re: (Bay_707)
It takes away alot of the value. However it takes away market value.
Accident vs Theft
Personally and I common sense says Id rather have a theft salvage title car than a wrecked salvage title.
Theres good deals out there, and sometimes theft cars are good deals for us since were just going to do a diff interior, front end, engine ect....
If you found a cheap salvage title theft car that you plan on heavily modding and keeping for a while then go for it.

now thats pretty much BS...as long as the car was repaired and passes inspection it doesnt affect loans, insurance,or registration!

Re: (JDMisGOOD)
to determine the exact value, ask your bank what they'll loan on it. most banks will loan up to NADA low book value on a salvage/rebuilt titled vehicle.

I disagree. I had no trouble insuring and registering my salvaged titled integra. You can get a really good deal on a salvaged titled car, just don't expcet to sell it for anything more then you paid for it. I paid $5,000 for a 1997 ls with 40k, when the bluebook valve for the same non salvaged titled one was $10,000(this was over 2 years ago). Make sure you know what was wrong with it before you buy though. Sometimes vechlies are issured salvage titles for very minor fender benders, or just getting the wheels stolen, or it could be something much more severe.

Re: (stevieteg)
u def can get a good deal on a salvage.
my friend got a used 350Z salvage theft recovery at an auction...didn't have a rear bumper and had a rip in the front seats...otherwise perfect condition 3K miles on the car. Boguht it for 8K...it was also modded an exhaust and some wheels.

OK... so nobody really knows how salvage effects the value. Frustrating because I thought this thread would really be helpful.
JUST IN CASE SOMEONE WHO DOES KNOW reads this...
I bought a Crosstour with 17000 miles and salvage title by theft. All that was needed was the correct key and I drove it home (St Lewis to Pittsburgh) just fine.
If it now has 50,000 miles what is it worth to a buyer?
...and PLEASE don't say whatever a person will pay.
Thanks in advance,
bchjane
