Looking for a cheap roof-rack
Yakima and Thule are out of my budget. Does anyone know of any roof racks that will work on my civic (92-95) and not break my wallet?
There are a few, but cheap ones will break. If you can't afford quality ones, just don't buy one. I've heard of stories where roof-racks have broken off and caused bad accidents...
You might be able to find a used one for sale on here or craigslist. Just make sure it all works.
Also, the towers should be the same, but the clips are what change. So if you find cheap towers you could buy new clips. At least that's how it is for Yakima.

Definitely look for a used Thule or Yakima if you can. I've had mine on a 97 civic LX now for about a year and a half, got the cross bars, fairing, two bike trays and a ski/snowboard carrier used, I only had to buy new feet and a fit kit for the civic, but that's a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a complete new rack. I've put everything up there from 3 bikes, to a canoe, to skis and snowboards, everything is still strong and sturdy. I've even had people climb on top of it thinking they were funny and nothing is bent or broken. All the parts that I got used are close to 15 years old, they still look and function great.
SportRack is total ****, we've had a few customer have their **** fly off.
For me, its Thule or nothing. You guys get it easy, the US prices are half the Canadian ones. Hell, i get it AT COST and its more expensive that what the average joe will pay in the US.
How awesome are they? They make a roof rack for a Del Sol!!!
Thule!!!!!!!!
