I have looked on the net, and came up with mixed results. Number 1, does this motor exist? 2, is it a sohc? 3, what is different between it and the usdm? 4, How can you tell which one the car has. The reason I ask is because the lude i just picked up has a newer motor and I was curious to what it could be.

 

if the lude you picked up has a f22a1 in it, then that is probably the stock f22a1 that comes in usdm prelude S. As far as i know there is no JDM with the engine code f22a1. It is also possible to put a dohc h23 or f22b head onto a f22a1 block.

 

There is not a jdm f22a1...But there is a jdm f20 which is almost the same exact engine, I believe it has the same hp as the f22 but it lacks the same torque figure.

 

From what I have seen the F20a SOHC has 135 hp, but about 124 lbs torque.

I put down 117whp and 131 ftp with a bone stock f22a1 and super super old air filter, possibly the original one... I dynoed it right after buying the car
