Default Gear-Speed carbon coated synchro's, who has them?

Who is using these?
It is suspected that my third gear synchro exploded last weekend, because now I can't shift without grinding over 3k rpms in that gear. All other gears are fine.

I have been talking with Gear-Speed and am ordering the synchro's tomorrow.
Does anyone have any input on them?

i installed a full set of the 1-2 OE brass synchros and the 3-4-5 gearspeed carbon synchros right b4 expo...

its hard to give a write up about them...
i was able to shift perfectly, no gears grinded, i guess, they work

Before I place my order, can you help me determine what I need?
The tranny is young, ~ 15k miles

The only issues I was having was upshifting and downshifting into 3rd, and then sometimes downshifting into 2nd. Would it be wise to replace the 3/4 sleeve set, or just do the synchro's? If the 2nd gear only grinded a couple times in its life, is there even any point in purchasing the OE synchro for 1/2? I am beginning to think that I should either do the 3/4/5 carbon, or just the 3/4 sleeve set and be done.

I am worried what the third gear might look like due to grinding it SEVERAL times
Anybody have a spare 3rd gear? I have tried a couple times to contact Pikey, but got no response.

If you can have the car down for a bit, why not take the trans apart and see what your working with here.

It may not be the syncro's at all.

you might need to replace the actual gear itself depending on the damage. Thats what happened to my friend. He ended up replacing 3rd gear synchro, 3rd gear itself and he did the sleeves for the hell of it since it was already opened.

I ordered today...
I didn't get the carbon synchro's due to lack of money.
Since I do not know what the tranny is going to look like once it is opened, I decided to go with the sleeve set for 3/4.
It comes with OEM synchro's too, so hopefully that will do the job.

If you know of anyone with a spare 3rd gear, keep me in mind - just in case

John, you are such a puss.
I am dropping the trans on Friday at my house.
I will borrow my parents car to drive to our meet this weekend.
If I bring it over, do you want to take the case off and look at the damage?

Are you going to come up? I think I might do BBQ/campfire/beer drinking on Sat at my place and then a more scaled back BBQ earlish Sunday afternoon. Shaun, when are you planning on heading back to NE?

When you decide you are coming up let me know. I'll see if the wife can score a good room rate at a respectable hotel.

it does not matter to me where we do this.
John, your house ok?

If I can stay at your place, I will come up Sat night after work.
I get off at 7 - 7:30 and can head out shortly after that. Be there around 9 pm.
