Bought one without the armrest badge, where would I find out?

that really sucks cause the previous owner got it without the badge also, and he's had it for about 5 years now. would the vin help at all?

 

Your only hope is to go to your DMV and explain the situation. They may give you the info of the owners pior but probably wont due to the privacy act. They can tell you where the car was sold and then you can call the dealership and maybe they will give you the owners info or even tell you the badge number.

You can try the original selling dealership (if you know it) and hope they know, but its a pretty slim chance.
Or you could trace the ownership history enough to be able to contact the original buyer.

thanks guys but I guess I'm just going to own the R without ever knowing the badge number. kinda sucks but seems like too much work to go through finding it.
