just seen the finals

 

They really need to get rid of that host. Shes horrible i think i heard more ghetto slang out of her in 2 race telecasts then the entire boyz-n-da hood movie. Horrible. I know its not really in NHRA's hands but someones gotta do something.

 

Not feeling the "STYLEFEST" Is there a way to devote the entire hour to Drag Racing?

Slang has to go! I would be embarassed to ask a sponsor to watch that!

 

I didnt get to see it... did they show the fight with Paul Efantis and the red car?

 

Yup its pretty sad to see that you couldnt ask someone of importance to watch that because its a joke. Definetly makes us look like the low end of the stick.

Csquared- Congrats on the final round in Vegas. The B-Team gets things done sometimes like you said.

i get troubled when i read post like this on honda-tech. i just had a discussion with folks in GDD about the term ghetto and how people associate it with Black people.

I hear a lot of slang on TV by people of all races...its the "HIP" thing. who is NHRASC targeting...? its not the v8 redneck guy from the suburbs...its the 16-40 year old urban male.

atleast shes hot, IMHO!

 

When i worked at ESPN last year I tried looking into who put's these shows together and and why they try to make the coverage different from the powerade stuff but no luck. An outside production house puts this stuff together but i wish i was able to find out at who at ESPN ok's it.

Black,White,Purple, Green. It doesnt matter who it doesnt look good for us. Do you hear anyone on Powerade saying "mad record" or "you havent won in a minute". Come on mad it sounds rediculous. How can you tell a sponsor to watch a show that showcases our series and have them see things like that. Turns them away which isnt what this sport needs. Ok i might of misphrased what i was trying to say its not "ghetto" its bad grammar plain and simple and you know it.

 

I recorded it. I'm about to watch it and make notes and send them into Gary and ESPN. I'll try to find a company name for us too.

 

Is that who we have to direct suggestions to?

 

as of now. yes. but i'd like to speak directly with the producer(s)

 

That would be the ideal thing to do.

 

i'm very dissapointed in a lot of the show. I've wrote my comments down to every section of both shows. I agree with you guys about the slang. what is that all about? its killing us badly. my vcr cut off the last bit so i didnt get a company name.

 

All I know is that the show is 1000 times better than tunervision...at l east you can watch this show. Could it be better? Sure, but it is not that far off as it is. for a great show.

 

I just watched it, I didn't think it was bad at all. I heard the host say the LBC and homies, but it doesn't bother me at all. I enjoy any coverage that we get.

 

most definately, i just finished my email to gary and told him i appreciate the coverage. but there is always stuff to be had better than what we've got. Also, if we're not showing any feedback, they're not going to know why ratings arent as high as they should be.

 

It would be awesome to have a full hour of coverage, too.

i would agree. remember a couple years ago there was no sportsman coverage. no postings of the ladders. they only showed runs after the semis. not even those nice graphics or montages (expletive yeah! lol )and didnt we share the half hour with stylefest too? anyway its come a long way. it still could use some minor changes. i like franciscos idea i think if we all got together and offered some positive and constructive ideas we can all benefit from a better program.

Did you guys watch the Moroso coverage the cameras gave me headaches. They were so close to everything. I swear they did a few interviews that and they must of been maybe 5 inches from the persons face to the camera. Dont get me wrong its come a long way from what it used to be, and its better than tunervision. But not better than last years coverage at least i think.

 

I watched it...It was VERY sad. I was embarrassed and I was all by myself.

 

guys. please express your concerns (even if it just a couple sentences or the same as everyone else) to gary at graasch@nhra.com They need to hear what we have to say.

haha the B-team takes care of business, just no one ever knew they could. The 10yrs I've know the B-team he's always been a bad ***.
