Rsx vs. Integra??
So i really wanna get into this Honda/Acura scene and i'm stuck between these two cars. i like the Integra (94-01) because it has alot of mods and its pretty fast, i like the Rsx because it's newer..my problem is which one is faster and which one has more mods? my aim here would be for speed. So which one would be the more logical choice?
p.s. i know nothing about Hondas or Acuras, im a NOOB!!
thanks for the input guys i really appreciate it

though rsx is faster stock, unless its against a type r. type r would give it a run.
i personally think a integra is a better platform to start off with.
The integra is lighter and you can swap in several different motors while rsx you only can upgrade to a tsx, accord, element 2.4 motor.
with the integra, you can go b20vtec, h2b, any k series, b series type r such and such, and plus i think integras look better
you posted this in a rsx fourm, of course you are going to get biased people lol.
good luck on your oppinion.

Hmm i see, i kinda figured the integra was lighter but i thought the k20 moter in the type s might make up for the weight. I think Integra look nicer too, but the Rsx is newer and has alot more features, which is why im having a hard time choosing..haha
thanks for the replys guys

i would stick with the RSX bro. i beat my brother's GSR with e/i/h and msd 6al with my stock 05 rsx type-s. he decided to sell it and got himself a evo 8. i know i wont stand a chance with evo 8. but integra..hmm nah! doin all the swap and work is a headach.
yea i was seriously thinking about doing the k20 swap into a teg but its so expensive, thats why i was leaning to a rsx cause they already got the k20. I just like the way tegs look. My other problem is that it's super hard to find nice integras where i live (hawaii) but you can find a nice rsx at a dealer. so yea im still trying to decide.
Wow, a RSX Type S as a project car at 17 years old...
and...

where did you get 10 grand?
these days you can find deals on k20 swaps and parts.
AND to op what features does a rsx have that a integra doesnt? if you get a 2001 integra thats only 1 year older then a 02 rsx.

an rsx is not that much faster stock vs stock. sure it should be quicker but a better driver in a gsr is enough to make that difference. i mean a damn rsx-s should beat a gsr but its not putting bus lengths on it.
if you look around you should be able to find an '01 Type R somewhere around the same price as an rsx-s. and the R shouldnt even have that many miles and its just a tad bit older than an rsx-s. but having a k20 does make the DC5 very tempting.

In a straight line the RSX should be Faster. As for suspension the Integra is a much better setup with the right suspension on the track a DC2(integra) is much faster. The double wish bone suspension is much better than a Strout style like what you get an a EP3/DC5. If track speed is what you want stick with the Integra the suspension is fare better.
And this is coming from an EP3 driver.

Integra chassis is superior to the DC5, especially the DC2. Macpearson strut design is used up front on the DC5
. RSX-S is nearly 200 pounds heavier than a DC2. But the K series have much more potential than the B18C series. I almost bought a Type-r, but because of theft I decided to go with an RSX-S. Your choice is really going to depend on how much money you have, a DC2 and RSX-S are within the same price range. If you are serious about racing and are open to being paranoid, get the type-r.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions guys i really appreciate it, except for the guy up there "whiteonrice" hes hating on me for being 17 when he is only two years older then me. we can see who matured faster, you would think he was really five years younger. Thanks for acting like your 15. I turn 18 in a month and i work hard for my money so you can keep your comments to yourself please. Well anyways i guess i have decided im gonna go with an integra

Yeah, what other people said.
Integra chassis is way better. Struts are inherently not as good as dual a-arms, but execution is everything with either setup. Porsches and BMWs are teh sechs when it comes to handling, and they both have struts. What you care about is that the Integra suspension was done right, and the RSX has screwed up suspension front and rear.
K-Series engine is way better, makes a bunch more power at any state of tune. Definitely the way to go if you want to stay naturally aspirated. You can find the limits of street suspension and tires without forced induction.
Any of the engines with the exhaust on the front is a better choice if you are going to go turbo, though, because it's insanely expensive and difficult to make a good turbo setup when the exhaust is against the firewall. Whether you go high, low, or off to the side like Full-Race, you have a lot of work to install it and solve all the problems that placement inherently creates, whereas a front-mount turbo can just be slapped on in comparison. And an intelligently executed, low-effort turbo B will make all the power you can put down with street tires and chassis.

by looks i would say they both look great and can be made to look even better (JDM ALL THE WAY) but when it comes to performance ... the question really is if you got the money to spend on this project car ...
a k series engine is the way to go, and even though it may not have many mods at the moment it has the most potential out of all honda motors ... k series has been made to withstand heavy loads whether it be from a turbo or an all motor build (ALL MOTOR BABE) in the instance of b series ... there isnt any b series motor built stock with a turbo which means they were not meant for an easily bolted on turbo kit while k series has a been able to with stand alittle less than 20 lbs of boost when bolted on a stock k20 ... and even one of the k series motors comes stock with a top mounted intercooler turbo (k23) ... the only down fall about k series is its I-VTEC ... who the hell in the racing world needs VTC in there cars ... VTC is the I in I-VTEC and it only increases fuel efficiency and thats all ... but need less to say k series in either body will make you a happy person ...
So the best thing about both cars is they can hold a k series motor ... so if you got the money to drop one into a dc2 than go for it but if you would rather spend your money else where than get the dc5 ...
