Fuel Economy MPG graph for 94 Accord over past 5 years
I have been keeping records of my MPG ever since I first owned my car. I use my MPG to determine how well my car is running. Every few years, I input all my reciepts into a Excel sheet to see analyze my driving trends. I have a 94 Accord LX, 5spd. I bought it with 83k miles. I now have 155k miles.
My all time fuel economy is 27.34 MPG with all my driving since owning my car.
Here is my fuel economy graph.

Between August 05' to March 06', I lived close to school, so I did only local driving, and no highway driving. One month missing, I was out of the country.
I still get 27.5 MPG on the interstate when I towed a trailer with a motorcycle on it and when I tow a jetski.
Just thought I'd share this info.

ha, I know, but I have to as well. My fuel guage does not work too wonderful, so I know I have to full up when I reach 400 highway miles or 300+ city miles. I reset my odometer on every full up and write down the milage on the recipt and calculate my fuel economy real quick. Every year or two, I input them into my excel sheet and play with the numbers. I try to determine any trends in gas station giving better economy etc. I havent found much co-relation to different gas stations. The main difference is if its highway or city driving.

my 94 LX coupe got 25.x city and 34.x highway I also had my car 4 years and got it at 87K and sold it at 149K
I keep similar records for my car. I have an excel sheet setup so that after I get gas I punch in a few values and it calculates how many MPG i got. I also keep track of price/gal, total cost/fill-up, miles/tanks, date and location. I just don't do any type of graphs.

Ha, I have the EXACT same columns in my excel sheet as well. I always write the total miles and quickly calculate the MPG I get on each gas receipt as well. This makes it easier to enter the information into my excel sheet later on. I then have a column in my excel sheet that automatically calculates the MPG and I compare this to my number written on the reciept. Another column I just added this year was to check the actual price for the gas and compare it to what I paid, since they round off the numbers to the nearest cent. I found that in spending $1,800+, I got charged an extra $5 in the sum of all the rounding off that the gas stations do.
