Default Buying a 90' EX - Advice?

Im buying a car through a guy at work, no doubt a honda accord. Its a stock EX SOHC motor. Lets start this out by - Im a saturn guy, i dont know anything about Honda's.
Regardless of my tuning options on the stock motor, i am buying this car, so nothing can convince me otherwise.
The interrior is MINT conidition but the outter body has a bit of run near the rear fender wells, normal for a canadian car, gonna get that fixed in my garage as soon as i take possession.

The day i buy it im going to be purchasing a knockoff CAI pipe system off ebay with a true K&N Filter. I have heard however, Not to use K&N as they need oil, and the oil "Can" clog the air sensors. Opinions?

Also im going to be putting on my fart cannon. well not really, it has a nice deep sound, and doesnt sound too bad at all.

What kind of performance options do i have with this car other then the CAI, maybe some NGK Iridium Plugs, Mag core Wires and a full 2.25inch exhaust system?

I was told that a B series Civic motor would NOT fit in this car uneless there is some extensive work done to it, and some custom axels, and to get a F series motor, what motor is suggested to build up on with more power (Im going to be looking at a 12PSI turbo kit for the motor, stored during winter) What kind of work comes with that new engine that i want to put in as well?

And just a pointer, im not into Euro's and body kits, just pure power. People say if you want fuel economy with a turbo and a decent punch, to get a civic, however there are jsut too many, so when i seen this Accord for sale, i couldnt get over it, How mint it is, and how good it looks for its year.
Any pointers, hints, or advice is muchly appreciated.
-Dan

When you say it has "run", do you mean rust? Hondas are notorious for having rust over the rear fender wells.

These are your decent first mods. Dont expect to be your neighbourhood fastest just from these though. These only add a few HPs.

Civic is a VERY light car compared to the Accord. The civic motor or even the integra motor is way too small to do anything with the Accord. The Accord need more torque to move it. The Civic and Integra are interchangeable for performance engines. The Accord and Prelude are interchangable for performance engines.

You already have a F-series motor in the Accord. It comes with F22A motor. THis motor can easily last upwards of 250,000 miles with proper care.

To turbo the Accord motor will put you in about the same cost range as doing a swap to the H22A Prelude motor. The H22A Prelude motor comes stock with 195-200+ HP. You are better off saving up for a swap, then spending your money on modding this engine, and you will have one fast Accord with a decent reliability. The H22As are known to burn oil though. All the Preludes I have owned have burned oil, but the smirk on your face when you hit VTEC in the Prelude is more than worth it.

As for the rust issue, its not big at all, If you notice sometimes on trunklids, the rust will *run* down onto the bumper, thats what i thought was happening ont he door panel, but it was just some caked on dirt. The rear quarters are in mint condition, and it consumes no oil, (not visible at the exhaust anwyays) Sounds likea good deal to me. Gonna buy it.
And yeah hulk, is your answer to everything "turbo it" cause i see that quite frequently from you. *goes into next forum* (sees a thread related to heat issues) *Hulks answer to it, "Turbo it!"*

Oh you didnt just go to the about section....
EDIT:
And to clarify: What about the oil you need to put on the K&N filters, Will that clog the sensors, or should i use a knockoff?

The oiling of the K&N is the way it traps the dirt. You do need to oil it. If it is not oiled, it probably not going to be doing its job properly.

I love the 90 accord coupe's. I think your getting one of the spunky-est cars of its time.
If the engine runs rough or loud you will be surprised how long it will last! My motor ran rough and i still got 60,000 out of it driving it like a race car! I swapped it before I needed to at 216,000 miles!

Actually, this thing runs MINT, only thing i noticed it might need is a tranny flush and clean, it shifts a little rough when its cold, but ive never heard a better sounding accord of that year. Wish me luck, i think i get it on tuesday/wendsday, I'll have pics of everything when i get it.

So i turned around, and inspected the car, it needs a gas tank. The tank has started to rust at where the welds are. I figured well i work for an auto parts company, i can get it decetnly cheap.. WRONG, tank itself without the pump/lock ring is still 170 + taxes new. So i go looking around for a used one, nothing. (mind you all this is paid for by the previous owner) So after trying to find one for a couple days now thats in decent condition, i find nothing at all. My question is, How hard is it to rip out that tank, drop in the pump, put on the new ring, and shove her back in there? Have you had any issues doing this, (rusted bolts/straps etc) What kind of problems have you run into in the past?

Now asking this, i should point out the following has already been repalced - Lock ring, Fuel pump, Fuel pump pigtail for electrical connection, Full set of fuel lines (including return lines), Fuel cap, injectors were THERALLY cleaned.

Thanks in advance.
