I am thinking about putting a CAI in my 7th gen V6 Accord 03. I live in LA and I wonder if i would be able to drive when it rains if i have this. Also, what brand intake should I get? Thanks.
INJEN, AEM make good respectable CAI for all accords, yes you can drive it in the rain, but avoid big puddles, because you could experience hydrolock. If it is just a slight rain or drizzle, your fine, but if its pouring its *** off, just avoid the bigger puddles.
Which if your car is already lowered. Then its not hard to do . I have been there . A few times to be more realistic. Your location , seems to be fine . Out here on the east coast . we get rain about once a day and before boost . I almosted hated that CAI .

AEM, Injen, and Weapon R make all good brand name intake kits. You could also buy an Ebay special intake and put a K&N filter on. Basically all the pipes are the same, its the filter thats different. And if youre that worried about hydrolocking your engine, get a bypass valve. It would help prevent hydrolocking.
I have a K&N 69 Typhoon Series cold air intake...
its amazing.. the responsiveness i get from it has really improved the driving and 'fun' of driving the car...
I also have gone from 25mpg to 30mpg since the switch .. I highly recommned K&N's intake.

YEAH i got the aem v2 cold air intake its really worth the price i got it for 323$ shipped on http://www.autopartswarehouse.com
I live in florida and sometimes i feel like the ocean is being dumped on me. just avoid those deep puddles and you should be fine. i have an AEM and i love it. i lowered my car after i got the CAI and its been fine.
isnt there just two lines that hook up to the intake if anything those are hooked up and i dont see any other hoses disconected, i dont punch the gas . some are telling me the airflow sensor is trying to compensate for the less restricted air and is feeding the engine more gas but they are no mechanic either.
i actually just purchased a Fujita Intake and it's nice. it fits perfectly and very good quality. i only paid 160 shipped. i drive a 2001 accord 4cyl. that's just my opinion. i think it's awesome.
Sry but Fujita all the way. i have an 06 Accord coupe i4 5spd and i got the Fujita CAI and its a whole different car. Sounds amazing and you can really feel a decent gain a bit.
wow 160 is good for a Fujita b/c there a little pricey sometimes. but quality is the shizz and easy 2 install if you know enough 2 take off the front bumper.

an injen cai will give u the best balance between low rpm torque and high rpm horsepower. make sure u buy some kind of valve that traps the moisture before it can make it to ur throttle body. something else to do is when it rains and u see a big puddle coming up, let ur foot off the gas so the throttle body is closed and won't pick up all that water. hope this helps...
yeah, it's a sponge. lol. it goes in between the the cold air pipe somewhere b4 the throttle body. it absorbs water so if u do happen to submerge your filter in water, it can stop that water from getting in your engine.
