i need this cross member to install my turbo. i ordered one from a local shop and it's been 2 months now and still haven't arrive yet. anyone know a shop that would have one in stock.
Do yourself a favor. Don't buy one. Place racing front crossmembers have a tendency of cracking the tierod bushing cups clean off. There has been one I can think of in particular that happend within the last 2months to someone on this list. Hopefully someone can post a pic of it. Just buy a Z10. They are better in quality. Unless someone else has a suggestion.

does Z10 replace the factory one or is it a bolt one. i need one that would give me room to install the turbo. with the factory cross member and b16a it's nearly impossible to put turbo on.
Yes, the Z10 provides extra clearance for turbo downpipes. It is significantly slimmer than the factory crossmember and weighs less as well. Yes it does replace the factory crossmember. just goto http://www.z10eng.com you can see what it looks like. I bought mine through nrg-racing. I know that vsracing performance is doing a groupbuy in the best buys section right now. I would check there. I ended up paying $515 for mine.

HA HA HA.........Placeracing + B-series + DRAG3 = a **** load of fitment problems...... Damn sucks for you, hell sucks for me been there, drove that. JFWY, i've got an 88HF, LS swap, Placeracing mounts, DRAG 3 kit. Hit me up on PM's i'll help ya out on what to do.
Z-10 is $500, good for traction and those clearance problems, bad for the wallet.
Place Racing.....well it's **** but for $150 or so
Why pay either when you can take a 5lb hammer and solve your problem for free and in 10 mins?

I cut mine half way in two places and hammered it down. It works fine and didnt notice any difference in handling. Is this ok though or should I replace it with something more solid? I'm afraid it might break in half while going over 100 or on making a hard turn. Any comments?
Heh, I just beat that **** out of mine with a 5 lb sledge hammer. I'd whack on it a few times, test fit, whack some more. It's done fairly nice, even curvature right where the DP is, i've even got enough clearance to pull the DP off with removing the x-member.
....Seriously i've had mine about 120+ still handles just fine.

i did figure out that i could hammer out the cross member to fit the downpipe but i still have no room for the intercooler pipe. i tried to run the intercooler pipe on the top is that still didn't work. how did you run your intercooler pipe with the factory cross member.

thanks.
Just put my place racing unit in last week and it work great! I used to have a crappy place racing pos and it broke. The one thing about the z10 is that I wasn't able to use the 92-95 radiator to give me more room. It was too tall and hit the hood. Oh well traction is better and there is no wheel hopp even in the rain!
