Default Please give me some leads on my hesitation problem--LONG

I am getting frustrated.

My car is running worse and worse. I can't figure out where the weak link is.
My hondata system is tuned so its not my fueling mixture. I get nothing on my datalogs to lead me to a definite answer. I get the worst hesitation at a very specific manifold pressure (about 380mbar vacuum--from a relative of zero atatmospheric) . It happens worst when I come off the throttle then back on the throttle or if I blip it right around that throttle position. Its annoying because its right at the position where I cruise around most of the time. The car also does not seem to run smooth at all and seems to be sluggish and spool up slow too.

1) I ordered an AEM fuel regulator because i thought the B&M riser may be a fault. That will be here any day.

2) I wonder if its my Carsound cat that may have plugged up from running rich for about 4 months (and burning some oil from the turbo). Any good way to confirm that? I hate to buy a new one and have to reweld my fittings on. Is there any downside really to gut this one out and have pseudo "test pipe"? Is it hard to gut a cat?

3) Could it be my purolator fuel filter? Its only a year old (maybe 7000 miles on it).

4) Could it be ignition related? I have wondered if there were problems because a dyno guy tried to hook up an electronic tachometer to my tach signal wire and got very erratic readings (even though an analog tach and my dash tach read fine). I just keep that in the back of my mind that maybe I need a new ignitor module?

5) Anything else that can cause these symptoms? My intake manifold and vacuum lines all seem quite secure, I get steady vacuum readings so I don't think there is a leak there?

thanks if you have some suggestions or had symptoms like this!

Art said he fixed that hondata hesitation by using very different ignition maps from vaportrail.

I fixed it by getting the EMS.....

i tried using ignition maps from a different car (an B16 engine with single runner manifold since I have a Skunk2 intake). didnt change things at all! It had about 5deg more advance at low loads and took out those dips in advance on the GSR engine.

Do you have a map of your ignition I can look at. Perhaps I can enter by hand.

send to torin_finver@hotmail.com

I will ask him for some maps to try though!

Do you know if I will run into problems with my Carsound Cat. if I gut it out?

thanks.

It sounds like a tuning issue to me. Let me see your maps(fuel and Ignition)
i should be able to help out.

well, it definitely does not happen on all GSRs. Perhaps it has something to do with my throttle body/skunk2 intake? Its not a fueling issue, I have tried all combinations of fueling around that point and nothing changes. Timing is possibly an issue but I tried smoothing out the stock GSR timing map and that did not change things. I am going to have a new Carsound cat sent to me because mine may be plugged up from running rich and oil burning for a period of time
