Default external oil feed line on a b18c?

In this mounths Honda tuning mag, Larry from Endyn reveals a tip that he got from a British Touring Car engine builder..."try putting in another oil feed" to help keep the wear at normal level (Valve springs)

He also confirms to do this on b16a and b18c engines to!

1. Does it makes sense

2. How would you run the feed line, the oil pressure sensor and the oil pressure sending unit for an oil pressure gage???

Thanks

Bro, I read the same thing. I really wanted to know more about the stats and results on the pros and cons on the this method.

Hopefully someone will give us some light on this method

The easiest way to run it would be exactly like an lsvtec, either T off the oil pressure sender or get a sandwich adapter for the oil filter.

This is want I found. Run the external lines Approx. 18" long, to a T fitting with the OEM sensor and an 12" line fron the T to the firewall where you would have your sender unit for the pressure gage!!!

I will try this at the end of the week once my trany is back together and I will note if any difference in oil pressure occurs!!

Then I'm doing it for sure! I'm running Toda Bs with superttech springs and retainers. I run 45min of lapping practice every Monday and I'm hoping this will prolongue my vavlvetrain's life!

Ditto, but you will get a good amount of added volume.

On top of that added volume, I'm running a Moroso 5L racing oil pan LOL

Back from the dead...

I had heard of doing this on K motors to get more volume to the cam journals. I have found VERY limited info on this but did find one guy who said VTEC started to function intermittently after doing this on another B series motor. He did not have an oil pressure gauge so who knows if he had other problems. Is this something that should be done to a car that will see high RPM abuse? Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated

Yes, but I haven't read the article so I don't know where they said put the feed line. Since this is the same topic BUT different engine thats going to be a big guessing game as to where to put the additional oil feed line for the K.

I'm referring to the B18C. It's just like an LS/VTEC build. I'm wondering if I should block the factory port just like an LS/VTEC and use a -6AN feed or should I use both? Or, should I not do it at all....I just want any extra protection I can get!

In theory, a slightly larger hole @ the head oil control orifice should do the same thing.
