Default H-series trans on F23A1

i found a thread or two that said this was possible.

i just wanted to get some feedback from folks who have done this or have driven a car with this swap in it. kinda concerned how it does on the interstate and if the gear ratios are worth the effort. also any problems with the shifter hookup, axles, or clearancing issues? any other points you know of that are important if i decide to do this would be appreciated.

Your engine life might decrease a lil bit, because you engine will be spinning faster to go the same speeds as before. That is why Preludes engines don't last as long as Accords.

haha...that's ridiculous. You're saying that the reason that Prelude engines don't last as long as Accord engines is because the run at a higher RPM on the interstate?

I'm sure it's more to do with the way they're driven (and maybe the auto t-belt tensioner)

I also heard about this swap a while ago but wasn't sure on what it involved. I'd love to the lower ratio trans if this is possible. Isn't the clutch kit also the same on these two trans. (F23A1 & H22/23) ???

i would have to agree mr. ninja.

people that drive preludes want it to be a race car. most people that drive accords want them to take them places.

so do you have to use prelude axles or is it just better to use them?

Ok, so does it really matter then what year Prelude & Engine (H or F Series) the manual trans. came out of? I've read other posts where the claim the ratios to be different in some and advertise that they'll only work on 90-95 Accords. Please help as I'm really trying to find the best application. ALSO: Will it work with my stock ECU (manual trans.) on the 98' F23A1 Accord. Eventually I'm going to put in a Hondata ECU system but not just yet. Thanks again!
