Default Help me choose the right Prelude please.

Ok well I am in a market for a nice Prelude, and I can not decide between several different ones as to what is the best choice, they all have ups and downs.

So if you would please check these out, and tell me your opinion.
I'm just looking for the best deal, with some modifications already done to save me some money.

My first choice here:

Then the plan B.

Please have the common courtesy of not bothering the owners. If you have any questions on the vehicles, post them here, and I will contact the owner.

I would really like to thank all of you for your help in advance. I love the Prelude, I just don't know enough about the after market parts for it :D.

Im liking #1, tastefully modded, all CARB legal (damn CA smog *****!) clean title, overall clean car...

personally id avoid the red JDM swapped one unless he has all the papers and stuff for the swap. id test drive the ones you're seriously interested in to compare them. Maybe you'll like the 5th gen, maybe the 4th, who knows

I am checking both out this morning.

I am leaning towards #4 right now, because of my financier. Also, the #1 ran turbo for xxxxx amount of miles. CarFax stated that it failed smog twice (from the turbo, didn't have sticker on it), the current owner got the title 04/07//07, so something is fishy.

Just want something clean/maintenance free.

4. It has really low km's so if that one runs good I'd deffinetly take the 4th gen vtec up!

number 1 and number 4 both look and sound good. the 4th gen seems a little pricey for me compared to the 5th gen which is 5 years newer and only $1k more. the 4th gen does have less miles and the 5th gen may have been abused a little as you stated from a turbo. I guess i would just check out both and go from there.

I checked out the 4th gen.

It's super clean and nice.

I'm 6'5" and it fits like a glove on me.

Will hopefully purchase it tonight after work.

If i don't get that one, then maybe option #1.

Did a carfax. The odometer is messed up from owner #2....
I think it's still good, Honda's can do a lot of miles with no problems.

A CARFAX Vehicle History Report is based only on information supplied to CARFAX. CARFAX checked over 4 billion vehicle history events and found 16 record(s) for this 1993 HONDA PRELUDE VTEC/SR-V

I personally prefer Fourth Gens to Fifth Gens. I think #4 is really nice looking, the rims aren't my first choice but overall, it's clean, not too modified and not that many miles on it. 4th Gen

ok, well i checked out the 4th gen as you know... then i went to work, then after work i was supposed to buy it....

while i was at work, he got a down payment to put it on hold

Oh, and i do prefer 4th gen to 5th gen. IMO 4th gen is more comfortable.

eh well, hopefully the buyer falls through.
The seller was kinda bumbed out over me not getting the car, because I showed a lot of interest. Also because he wanted it to go to a owner that is young like he was when he got it, and will enjoy every last second of it.

There are others out there though....
Just keep on looking.

Should I be worried about #1 having used to be turbo'd?
My father and grandfather think it's a bad car and will fall apart with a ton of money worth of repairs because of all the after market parts on it. Basically oem>>am in reliability to them. Which is probably true, but I will only have the car for about 4 years, then sell for a fresh car off the lot.

Well depending on if your looking for a "finished" car or you want one to do the upgrades yourself. I have a 92 stock black 4th gen I am getting ready to sell, Im in UT for half the price and you could drive it home. just an option

err... ty... but wrong place to put it.... be careful of admin coming in.

Well, it'd be nice to have a clean one with most of it done correctly already. That way I don't have to deal with it, and it will save me some money.
