OK...I have an '89 SI hatch w/ a '97 d16y7...OBD0 wiring....I'm getting a code 20 and code 17...My battery light on the dash turns on when the rpm's are low...when engine is rev'd up, the light goes off, however, if the battery is disconnected, the engine will turn off...Had my alternator tested at 2 diff places and both said the alternator was good....WTF should I be looking at next?

Please Help!!!

 

check your grounds

 

the one one the under the dash there are two of them and one on termostate and two more behind the head lights.

 

the wire from the alt to fuse box could be bad.
