Default AEM Short Air vs Ebay Specials

Is there a performance difference from the $20 Ebay special intakes vs the $200 AEM?

get the ebay. just get a better filter. AEM, Apexi. you really pay for the carb Sticker. i have a 3 inch ebay intake pipe with a AEm filter. works awesome.

yes, but when i only make a whole 106 hp with an a6, I dont waste money on the name on the intake piping. I just ordered one last night actually. I will use better hoseclamps and a k&n filter and call it good as long as the sealing boot does its job. I got it to my door for 32.99 so i will see. If you are trying to go fast and make more power, then yeah buy a brand name.

it's a friggin pipe. if you ask me... there's no difference. Unless the AEM's have super sexy vagina juice coated along the inside which acts as a ***** magnet, if not then they're both just pipes, round and hollow, same exact thing.

There probably is a tiny difference but it's not enough to justify the difference in price.

Buy the ebay one and heat wrap it and you'll have more power than the AEM for way less.

I nearly fell of my seat laughing when I read your post. The only difference I have seen between no name and AEM is some of the no-name pipes do not have the places for the sensor and the oil tube from your valve cover (i have forgotten the name and am too lazy to find out) other than that, i agree with the majority of the folks here, its just a pipe, AEM just has a nice color and sticker.
