Default oil excess

i put 3 quarts of oil in my car thinking that i was REALLY low on oil and turns out that i really didnt need it at all so is this potentially bad for the engine i'd lke to know because im about to drive down to the shore in like an hour. im not a noob i was just paranoid about blowing my engine especialy after so many blown engine for lack of oil stories. any info will help

If you over serviced it by three quarts you really should drain it and fill to the correct level. too much oil is as bad as not enough. the engine gets can get excessive crankcase pressure not godod.
