This is a motor Im buying, but In the first pic on the left hand side by the trans and the radiator hose there is a black canister with vacuum lines running out of it. Thats part of the evap. It usually sits on your firewall above your rack/pinion (a little to the left side of your car)

Ok here is what B.Cruz said

"Pensar71 (6:25 PM 7/13/2007): Bro I noticed you got your car bar'd.... I need help getting mine bar'd.... i have a b16a block with a gsr head.... think you can help?
FM_ALL (8:47 PM 7/13/2007): yes I can help. You need to put a skunk2 intake manifold. The older version that looks like a stock ITR manifold.
They won't know it is a gs-r head. You need to run a stock USDM P30 ECU, all vacuum lines must be hooked up like stock, cover cam gears if you have any aftermarket ones.
FM_ALL (8:49 PM 7/13/2007): You also can't have any CEL's on. Bring your car to a shop to test the catalytic convertor on it to make sure it is functioning right.

Also, DO NOT USE 91 octane for the test. You will fail. You need to run 87 or 89... or a mix of the two. Octane higher than that will cause you to fail because there will be unburnt gas exiting the tail pipe."

That sounds about right. Stock ECU, with new IM and I dunno about the octane. What is the compression on the motor? I wouldnt run 87 in that. Im pretty sure that you cant have mixed parts on your motor ie. b16 block with a gsr head. Kinda like LS-vtec. The GSR IM is very noticeable compared to the B16 and the type-r. A new im might help and having all your vacuum lines and no check engine lights is a must. They will automatcially fail you if you have any check engine lights or non CARB exempt parts.

You have to choose either a B16 swap or a GSR swap. Once they see the head and block arent the same theyll take your money test it and just fail you.

No offense to B_Cruz but of course there going to know the difference between heads because GSR is stamped P72 while Type R and B16 are PR3.
