Hey im about to change my LCA's and i just want to kno if anyone got by without actually breaking the bolts. If so can u just give me some pointers..im trying to get an easy change. Thanks guys

LCA bolts are a cake to take out bro. I believe they are 14mm bolts, all you do is unbolt then push them out. In most cases they never break but in some cases they can't come off so people have to force them out, meaning breaking them.

 

yea man...thats what i dont want them to actually break on me..i dont want to go about drilling and all thaat..i hope it works out..thanks for the input.

 

spray some wd40 on them and let it soak before hand.

the rear are the ones you have to worry about because unlike the front which have a bolt and a nut, the rear only has a bolt that screws into the shock. so the front you can give force from both sides, the rear only from one side.

4 out of the 6 i took out broke when i did mine. Depends on how rusted out they are.

yea see youre in jersey right? snow and rain? i dont see too much rain and no snow, so that could make all the diffrence

yea, lol, i did a load of wd-40 beforehand too, didnt do anything!
Second time i did it (another car) i used PB blaster and torched the bolts a little, and they came out like a charm. Yea, the weather here is anywhere from ice/snow and 4 degrees, to 102 degrees with 90% humidity. Thats NJ for ya.

thats true...good thing i live in CA haha...but were stuck with carb laws so i think your better off.

i had to drill out my rear ones they wouldnt come out for nothing. good luck though

same, had to grind off the nuts that were welded on the opposite side, then beat them out with a mallot. Had to goto honda and get the LCA bolts with matching nut, took them almost an hour to locate them back in the parts Dept

 

lube for tight, rusted, dirty bolts

 

LCA bolts

PB Blaster= The ****!!! its kinda like wd40 or whatever. it helps loosen bolts that are stuck n ****

 

its best to use an air ratchet. spray some wd40 on and let it soak in for a few. they should come off with no problems. mine were rusted. my car came from wisconson. rust was a bitch. the air tools took them right off.
