http://www.ef-honda.com/main/viewtopic.php?t=1400 seriously is this link the correct information or just picture. I have read that it is right 89 clip, but not 1988 like also stated...Also I have read that this information regarding the description in correlation to the location is wrong.
Someone please advise, just need the correct color/location/and description for 1989 CRX. Searched and came up with links to this constantly then hearing its wrong

hey dusty, i installed an 1999 EK EX cluster into my old 90 dx, that writeup lists everything you need for the new cluster to make it work.
if theres anything on the new cluster harness you dont use, it is things the EF's dont have, for example low fuel indicator, abs, and i think that maintenence required light has something too.
if you want me to cross check anything for you i have an EK helms pdf.
as for the factory side, the 89 is a little weird and has a couple extra wires, check out this thread youll see they arent really needed anyway:

probably just a 12 volt input and a ground input, or something like that.
its always a good idea to verify the circuits with a meter then blindly trusting internet information anyway.
if you get stuck on anything just pm me.

no, the chart worked 100% for my ITR cluster swap. The only thing is the 3rd blue connector which no one knows what the hell it is or what it does. Mine was left alone and I taped up the connector in tape
itr and usdm si and usdm ex are all slightly different animals.
he didnt specify what he was doing, hence my suggestion.
and as is apparent in that other thread the 89 info is a little spotty in reguards to that third plug vtec syndrome had.
