hey guys we just got a shipment in from Japan and one of the units is a b18c with the serial number shaved off... it says it has a y80 tranny but the serial code looks like it may have been glued on, but it is LSD and is cable..... has a type r intake manifold and throttle body with a pr3-2 head... is it a true type r? head is stamped from 98 and has a 98 p73 ecu.......

 

Y80... isn't that a gs-r tranny? Sounds like you got a JDM GS-R

 

i was under that impression as well but the serial code doesn't look to be legit and the bell housing has been changed....also thought there wasn't a cable style tranny for 98 gs-r, but i don't know. i also forgot to mention it has a b16 valve cover... pretty sure its still a type r head though... just trying to take some guesses before taking it apart

its not a motor for sale mugen mike... its for our personal use so it doesn't matter what it is we just aren't sure.. i thought at forums you asked people for help and weren't supposed to be criticized... thanks though you added a lot to this thread. do you feel good now? your browsed through the threads, read this one and made a lame comment.....cool
