Default Going deaf need to get rid of apex N1

My b16 CRX with 2.5 exhaust and apex exiting through the right bumper, (Previous owner cut the bumper out), is hella loud for my tastes. Without a post cat resonator and the unsilenced apex N1 finished at the end I dread hwy trips as it drones and is just plain too obnoxios.

I was thinking of keeping the 2.5 tubing, but using a quieter muffler, at least like the flowmaster delta 60 series seen here: (note soundclip too)

http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/60_series.html

Fabbing up a delta 60 series might be better as I see they offer a kit for the crx, which utilizes the louder 50 series:
http://www.flowmastermufflers....=3928

Can anyone give me an idea how much quieter the flowmaster 50 and perhaps 60 might be vs the straight though (no silencer) apex I have now? I could just get the apex silencer, but its good for only a 7 db reduction and about 50 bucks is a waste IMO.

If I fab up a system using a delta60 exiting in the stock location, I could always weld in a cutout and run an exit where the bumper is cut for when I want be loud.

As it is right now, I am setting off car alarms with the apex, so I want to get rid of it.

Please help

If I remember correctly the delta50 system has a chamber system and isn't a straight through design like you want. best thing you can do to quiet down your exhaust is get a resonator. I know the ES oval mufflers don't sound too bad and kinda quiet

Thanks, I really am not concerned about it being a straight thru system. I'd prefer it to be quiet, maybe not stock quiet but factory enhanced quiet. I probably definately wouldn't do a delta 50 kit, I'm concerned at this point maybe the delta 60 might not be enough hence my asking the difference between the apex and delta 60 loudness.

Isn't the purpose of the resonator post cat to reduce drone at hwy speeds when easing off the throttle?

I have 2.5, high flow cat, and a resonator and magnaflow straight through.....quiet and throaty at reserved driving, and nice tone at WOT.....not too loud, but deffinatly more than stock.

nice setup. I don't know how the magnaflows compare in sound in general to that of the flowmasters. I have a flowmaster on my jeep (360 v-8) and it sounds mean.

This CRX is just too DAM loud!!!!

i have 2.5" piping w/o cat and w/o resonator to a magnaflow muffler on my crx.
it's quiet during highway cruising, no droning at all.
it's loud at WOT, but still doesn't have that deep bass drone at WOT that n1 style's have (hope that makes sense).
it's not the coolest/nicest sounding exhaust(probably because of the lack of resonator), but it's no where near as annoying/loud as my integra with n1 style.

thanks, so basically N1 is one of the louder, more annoying types, yes?

Seems magnaflow is a popular choice...still wondering how the flowmaster 60 measures up noise wise.
