i always wondered is it semi normal to overshoot the ratings of the FMIC?

or is it pretty strict? i know it relates more to flow and heat but IN A GENERAL question a GENERAL answer is fine.

The rating on the intercooler is probably effected greatly by the efficiency of the turbo....if you're using a turbo that is in its efficiency range and making 430whp on that IC, you're probably fine. On the other hand if you have a turbo that is begging for death and making 380whp, you're probably not fine. The air coming out of the turbo is going to be much hotter than on the first turbo....at least that's how i would imagine it to be

generally speaking if i have a 350hp IC and my turbo is WELL in its efficiency range then it could go higher. ohhhhh now i see since the turbo not makin much heat till gettin close to ineffecient then the intercooler dosent have as much to cool at that range.

Someone please confirm this. I need to purchase and intercooler today, and this PTE intercooler will fit without hacking my bumper support. but if it wont get the job done, then I will have no choice bot to run a taller core. goal is 450+

Hacking the bumper support is no big deal. Get a bigger IC

Id definately go bigger. I have that same one on my car and it heat soaks pretty damn quick on warm days. And im only running 10psi and making approx. 320whp. Im already considering something bigger that will get to to 400.

You can kinda see it in there.
