Default What kind of oil do you run in your K series?

I am curious as to what brands everyone is having the most luck and least problems with.

I am sure I wanna run synthetic, just don't know much about the best brands.

This is kind of scary but i know two people that have blown engines on mobil 1 synthetic. Each motor had less than 50K on it. I am sure the oil didn't really have much to do with it but still.

Not sure if I can afford royal purple all the time.

Ive been running penzoil 10w-30w synthetic with k&n filters- runs like a champ, although where i live it doesnt get too cold. the only reason i use the k&ns over any others is because of the fitting on the end. trust me, after you try to change oil in your ep3 youll be glad to be able to just throw a wrench up there and break it loose

AMS oil 0-W30

girlfriend's brother gets a hook up on buying in bulk..

last oil change i used 5 quarts..a bottle of AMS oil engine flush, and a AMS oil oil filter (but usually i use the OEM honda filters)..

i like it..immediately noticed a smoother ride after doing the change.

I work at NAPA so I can get some Royal Purple for cheaper than normal, but by no means cheap. I can also get the K&N oil filters. Dealership said they would change my oil for life for only 8 dollars every two changes but I don't think they use synthetic and they run the Honda filters for two oil changes worth. I don't like that idea.

does anyone ever use that BG additive? Is it good to use with synthetic oil or not?
