another RR problem for me. ha
so, i decided to right my bike up to seattle last night. i've been riding it a bit here and there, and it has been working fine. starts right up, runs fairly smooth other then a slightly bumpy idle when cold.
then on the way back from seattle this morning .... about 30 miles from home, the MIL (malfunction indicator light) turns on, an "F.I." icon starts flashing on my instrument cluster, and the engine starts cutting in and out. Being that i was in the middle of I5 and no where to really pull over, i try and keep it going. It starts bucking, but eventually starts riding normal. It did this quite a bit, but i did end up making it home. The only reason i rode it out is i leave back to Iraq in a few hours and had alot of stuff to do today and couldn't waste the day waiting on a tow truck and dealing with that BS.
I look in the shop manual, and it sounds like it could be a million things in the super complicated FI system of the bike. I read how to check the MIL for how many times it blinks ... i turn the ignition on (not starting the bike) and it appears to blink only once, indicating a MAP sensor i believe (i dont have the manual in front of me). But maybe i'm just not reading it right?
ahh. so i dont know, any suggestions? Not sure where to start, and reglardess i leave in about 4 hours to the airport and i won't even see the bike again for 6 months.

ya i'll have to post it up there .. i usually bug people here first with my annoying problems
oil level is good, operating temp while on the freeway was around 170ish and it was about 70 outside. about 11,500 miles.
I looked through the shop manual and couldn't find anything in regards to the "F.I." icon on the instrument cluster, but i assume it stands for fuel injection.

my bike is stock other then a yosh slip on.
i didn't try resetting the ecu, no speedohealer. it was doing it really bad when i was 20-30 miles out, then it eased up and didn't do it again till i was just about home. The MIL still pops on though.

it could be a bad sensor, cant do much now i see that ur leaving in few hours, the best thing to do is find out what cell is giving u and find out what it is and go from there, good luck

it was a brand new battery (not even 2 weeks old) that sat on a battery tender since i bought it.
the gas, i put a few bucks in the night before. there was a little bit of gas (only like 1 bar out of 7 on the gas gauge) that had been sitting in there since i had left a year ago for the army

id imagine it would throw a specific code that youd have to find by jumping it? just like a car....no? And it should still be stored in the ecu...
i read that the MIL would blink a certain amount of times and you'd correspond that to whatever code it was throwing, but it only blinked once and i'm not even sure if it was a blink. ha.
i'm in kuwait now so there's not much i can about it at the moment
i'll have to get this when i get home. bah.
