I took a mini road trip this past week to surfside beach, SC. Which is about 3 hours away from home. I havent had a chance to really get the car out this summer, so i thought what the hell, instead of drivin one of the beaters ill drive the R. The car did great, only burned maybe a quart of mobil 1 full syn but i was driving 80+ on the way down and back

Come to Wilmington, NC next time, it's only another 80 miles or so up 17, and Wrightsville Beach is MUCH better than down there.

I'm down in that area (North Myrtle/Myrtle/Surfside) at least once a week delivering, it's nice down there.

I go to Myrtle Beach/Wilmington a couple times a year but stay in Brunswick Co (Ocean Ridge) when I visit a friend's place. Every once in a while he calls me with a ITR spotting down there.

That is one sad excuse for a beach.

And it ain't a road trip unless:

1) Spend 10+ hours driving one-way
2) Cross the state line
3) Someone throws up in the car.

Just for future reference.

But at least you guys HAVE a beach. I need to get down to Cali this year for some surf sessions.

surfside beach, is about 10 minutes from myrtle beach, right out side of charlotte, nc. ive always wanted to go to hilton head.

car seems to run fine, i haven't done a leakdown or compression test on it or anything. but i dont drive this car very often so when i do i beat the crap out of it. so that and the 80+ mph drive down and back, i didnt think it was to bad to burn a quart of shitty mobil 1. and the car has 78k on it

i would like to come down there, there seems to be quite a few owners out that way, ive owned my R for 2.5 years and havent met another owner yet

Damn man let me know. There are NO ITR's in my area at all. Im guessing you stay close to I95. I'm on the coast about 30 min away.

 

Oh, no, not towards Hilton Head, I was talking about Brunswick County, haha. Hilton Head's, like, 5 hours away.

Most of my customers are in Brunswick County, so I typically spend an entire day in that area making sales calls... This is why I put 22,000 miles on my R in a year.

I have one, it's not as fun to drive.

The only time I drive the Prelude, is when I go to the movies/mall/downtown/out of town/concert/kill someone/etc.
